Coulaux de Klingenthal (French, founded 1730), 19th century. Assembled by Etienne Le'on, the sword bears his "E.L." beneath three stars within a circle on the front face of the guard. The sword is embellished with foliate motif decorations surrounding the naval anchor insignia on the guard and scabbard with an eagle head resting to the edge of the guard; the pommel features a face of Neptune. The sword rests inside a leather and gilded steel scabbard. Marked "Klingenthal, Coulaux" to the rim of the blade. Approx: 5" H x 35" W. Provenance: From the Private Collection of The Cawley Family.
