After Albertus Seba (Dutch, 1665-1736), collection of four hand colored copper engravings on laid paper after works in Natural Curiosities from the Cabinet of Albertus Seba, originally published in Amsterdam in 1734. Group comprising of four different work on paper of varied size with skillfully handled hand colored elements, shells arranged by size, color and pattern within a double framed black border edge, page number or plate number indicated at top right margin, one with "F. Morellon la Cave del. et Sculpsit" in lower right of plate. All in matching glazed frames approximately 26.25" x 20.25". Sight size of each approximately 19" x 12.5".
Provenance: Acquired from Bonhams, New York, American and European Furniture, Decorative Arts and Paintings, Auction 19335, on June 23, 2011 as Lot 3273 by a private collection in Long Beach, California.
