Italian, 20th century. A matched pair of Baroque style giltwood decorated console tables, each table having rectangular inset yellow marble top over the conforming frieze centered a carved shell flanked by leafy scrolls and raised on four cabriole legs highly carved at the knee with scrolling acanthus and terminating on hairy paw feet. Back stamped "Made in Italy". Approximate height 35.5", width 60.5", depth 23".
Both consoles are structurally sound. There are no chips or cracks to either marble top. Both marble tops have minor surface scratches, not distracting and commensurate with usage. There are no major losses to any of the carved elements. Finish appears to have been touched up with numerous areas of re-gilt as examined under ultraviolet light.
