Roger Mühl (French, 1929–2008), "Iles de Lerins"-1985, oil on canvas, signed lower right "Muhl", titled on verso. Impressionistically rendered landscape painting with deep, saturated Mediterranean blue and greens, with impasto handling, depicting sea view of the coast of the the Lérins Islands (in French: les Îles de Lérins)--a group of four Mediterranean islands off the French Riviera, near Cannes. Framed approximately 33" x 34.5". Unframed approximately 23.75" x 25.25". Note: Mühl was trained at the School of Decorative Arts, Strasbourg, from 1946 to 1948. He is best known for his depictions of Mediterranean gardens, seascapes and landscapes from Alsace, Provence and Brittany.
