A porcelain ewer or small vase of bulbous form with elongated neck and flared gilt-rim mouth, neck with gilt ornamentation including floral garlands or swags and alternating leaf and flower band, neck with hand painted floral sprays, body with hand painted depiction of Venus and a childlike, winged Cupid, with gilt leaf tip undulating border, with applied and shaped gilt handle, bottom with blue beehive or shield maker's mark, bottom with inscription "Liebesgeheimniss"(Forbidden Love), bottom additional inscription "Germany", bottom with numerals "23041". Approximate height 11", diameter of base 3".
