Spode (English, founded 1767), 20th century. A complete set of 12 dinner plates or cabinet plates in the Audubon Birds series, each white bone china plate with a colorful bird hand painted to central tondo and having a gilded shaped edge on wide rim. Set comprising Western Tanager, Audubon's Warbler, House Finch, Bohemian Waxwing, Chestnut-Backed Chickadee, Maynard's Cuckoo, Red-Eyed Vareo, Yellow-Throated Warbler, Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher, Lazuli Bunting, Arkansas Kingbird, and Canada Jay. Each piece with stamped maker's mark to underside in red over "England / Bone China" and pattern number Y6466 over "Audubon Birds"; and hand lettered plate name in brown over corresponding number of plate in the series (1-12).
