For your consideration a large wall unit. Custom made in Mexico City, circa 1950s. Cabinets are made of solid mahogany. Very rare to find funiture constructed with solid mahognay wood. The doors are made of plywood with mahogany veneer.
Uprights have an sculptural shape, made of solid mahogany, wrapped in goatskin. Cabinets are connected with brass hardware to the uprights.
Custom sabots in solid brass at bottom, and adjustable stainless steel at the top.
One of the doors have a hand painted panel with an asian inspired theme.
Chest of drawers have six pulls in brass and malachite with oval stamp "Pepe Mendoza, 1958".
Dimensions: 29 1/2" D x 98" tall x 156" L.
Wood has been restored. Goatskin & brass has the original patina. Stainless steel tensors are new. Pepe Mendoza pulls replaced the original pulls (ghost shadow from original pulls can be seen). Refer to images.
