- Lot Description
These sickle swords derive from throwing-knives, but are larger and only have a vestigial extension instead of the second or third extension of the true throwing-knife. They have a wide variety of forms and come from the northeast Congo, found among the Bandia, Benge, Mongelima, Nzakara, Zande, Boa and Mangbetu. There is no consensus as to which form can be associated (if at all) with a particular group.
Dimensions: 22.75" long overall, 18.5" blade.
This lot may be picked up free of charge from our facilities in Sacramento, CA. Processing and shipping within the Continental US $75.00. All FedEx packages are sent with Direct Signature Required and insured at full replacement value for a fee of 1.5% of the purchase price, unless buyer accepts complete liability in writing. Discounts usually given on combined lot shipping.
