- Lot Description
A 2 foot fossilized whale jawbone section displaying an elongated, gently curved form with irregular contours and mineralized surface. The bone exhibits natural cavities, fissures, and variations in mineral coloration consistent with prolonged geological preservation. The specimen is horizontally mounted on a rectangular wooden display base supported by cylindrical wooden dowels that elevate the fossil for viewing.
Dimensions: about 2-feet and 3-inches long and 4 to 5-inches thick
This piece is too heavy for in-house shipping and can only be picked up at our Sacramento warehouse. Condition
Overall appropriate weathered condition. The fossil exhibits extensive surface erosion, mineral deposits, scattered pitting, natural fissures, and irregular losses along the edges. No damage or restoration revealed under blacklight. The wooden display stand exhibits some surface wear an abrasions, notably around the corners. Please see photos.
