Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, Sukhothai Period, ca. 14th to 16th century CE. A lovely pottery jar, presenting a spherical body with a rounded shoulder, an attenuated neck, and an inward-curving mouth, all sitting upon a ring-shaped foot. A pair of petite ribbon-form handles flank the neck, while a lustrous, sage-colored glaze boasting a natural craquelure envelops all but the bottom and foot. Note the rich marine deposits on the side and base, indicating that this vessel was likely found at sea and lost during a shipwreck. Size: 6.8" Diameter x 7" H (17.3 cm x 17.8 cm)

Condition
Expected nicks and abrasions with light loss to some surfaces, commensurate with age. Otherwise, excellent with heavy marine deposits and beautiful craquelure.
