New World, Guatemala, post-Conquest period, ca. 16th century CE. An interesting ceramic cup, goblet-shaped, with an unglazed, round foot and a stepped base that widens to a rolled rim. The upper portion of the vessel is glazed with a thick, black pigment. Made at a time of a great cultural change. Size: 4.25" W x 7" H (10.8 cm x 17.8 cm)
