Southeast Asia, Burma (Myanmar), ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. An iron suspension bracket for a bell, cast with a pointed arch form flanked by two relief figures - one male kinnara and one female kinnari - emerging from the sides. At the top rises a conical stupa-style finial. Below, a cylindrical rod passes through two loops, terminating at each end in a lotus bud finial, from which a bell would have been suspended. The surface shows areas of faint pigment, encrustations, and patina from age and exposure. Comes on a modern display stand. Size: 11" L x 7" W (27.9 cm x 17.8 cm); 11.25" H (28.6 cm) on included custom stand.
