Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A beautiful ensemble of dozens of redware beads, each in the form of a bird in profile and all strung on a modern strand to be wearable. Each of the lovely bird beads displays a short, curved beak, an annular eye, folded, ovoid wings, and a pointed, upturned tail. A gorgeous combination of Pre-Columbian fashion and modern style! All beads are ancient on modern stringing to be wearable. Some nicks, chips, abrasions, and softening of detail to some. Otherwise, intact and excellent with light earthen deposits.
