A trio of Indigenous carvings from the Arctic and Subarctic regions, each rendered in traditional organic materials. The largest is a graceful, abstract bird or eel-like form carved from moose or caribou antler, its elongated body adorned with a field of incised dots and inlaid baleen eyes. Accompanying it is a slender pendant in the shape of a fish, carved from creamy walrus ivory and pierced for suspension. Completing the group is a visage carved into the side of a weathered and partially fossilized piece of walrus ivory, the timeworn surface accentuating the aged, almost ghostly presence of the figure. Size of bird: 13" L x 1.5" W x 5.25" H (33 cm x 3.8 cm x 13.3 cm)
