Ancient Central Asia, Bactrian, ca. 2500 to 2250 BCE. A gorgeous necklace constructed with dozens of polished beads that are hand-carved from carnelian, banded agate, and quartzite. The vibrant, earthy colors of the beads range from grey, white, vermilion, citrine, crimson, and brown. The main body of the necklace features an alternating red and white pattern, with one side featuring several red-hued beads on either side of a white drop-form quartzite pendant, and the other with a white-and-grey spherical pendant. Strung in modern times with a contiguous design, this is an attractive and wearable necklace that can be worn in multiple ways! Condition
Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Carnelian, banded agate, and quartzite beads are ancient, and stringing is modern. Minor nicks and abrasions to some beads, with light pitting, otherwise intact and very good. Smooth patina throughout.
