Pre-Columbian, Peru, Inca Empire, ca. 1200 to 1532 CE. A lovely selection of 3 hand-forged copper adze heads of varying sizes, each with a lengthy body, a stocky tang, and a crescent-shaped blade with a sharpened edge. Adze blades like these were bound to the tops of wooden adze heads and used to till earth, chop wood, or shape soft substances like tree bark or mud bricks. They could also be used as makeshift hand tools for finer work like carving or smoothing wood. Size of largest: 6.75" L x 3.125" W (17.1 cm x 7.9 cm)

All pieces have light encrustations and chipping, with nicks to tangs and blade edges, otherwise intact and very good. Great patina throughout.
