- Lot Description
Acrylics, pencil, ink, and watercolor on paper. Rollins was awarded a BFA from UNH and was a scholarship and award recipient at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Later, she abandoned sculpture, and continued working as a two-dimensional artist. She has participated in one-, two-person, and group shows around New England on an annual basis, in National and local Juried Shows, and has received awards for her submissions. "I think of my pieces as visual poetry. I've recently been working on a mostly monochromatic collage series based on the poetry of Wisława Szymborska, in particular, “Foraminifera," an homage to life on this planet. These are mostly drawings or paper collages, where I combine elements made with: oils, ink, gouache, and pencil. I like to combine inks and washes with the more opaque, slick surfaces. Drawing is one of my greatest pleasures. It is writing before language. I bask in the immediacy of line—a primeval kind of scratching." Website: roldesign.myportfolio.com. Social: hyway61.
