Oil on canvas. Derek Macara is an American artist born in 1987. Macara is a full time painter whose work can be found throughout the world. He's popularly known for his paintings depicting rural New England scenery, however he's especially notable for his depictions of his native Cape Cod. Raised in the art colony of Provincetown, his upbringing exposed him to many well known and prolific artists. As a child, he spent several years studying at the Hawthorne school of art which was located at the former residence of early 20th century portrait artist, Charles W. Hawthorne. Recently, Macara's work has been gaining amongst art collectors and museums. He currently lives and works in his hometown, Provincetown, Massachusetts. Dimensions: 30"x40". Social: dmacara.
