Raised in Savannah, her love of beaches, marshes, rural roads, and open fields continues to shape her expressive paintings. Working both en plein air and in the studio, Leatherwood captures fleeting moments through vibrant color, energetic brushwork, and a strong sense of place. Inspired by pattern and atmosphere in the natural world, her paintings aim to evoke both nostalgia and emotional connection. She currently lives and paints on Tybee Island.
