Acrylic on panel. Joerg Dressler (Germany, b. 1964) is a painter known for his exploration of impermanence, memory, and the fragile beauty of the natural world. His work juxtaposes meticulously rendered fragments of nature—recalling 19th-century landscape and still life painting—with contemporary geometric abstraction. Dressler earned his MFA in Visual Communication from the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach, Germany. He also studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France. He is a recipient of the Romanos Rizk Scholarship, the AFCC 2024 Capacity-Building Grant, and was named a finalist in the 2020 Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellowships Program in Painting. Dressler’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum; the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art; and the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University.
