Oil on panel. "Why am I so drawn to painting skies? It is where I find myself daydreaming, where I find childhood memories, where I feel longing, where I remember those who came before me or are gone too soon. The skies are where magic makes itself known in a rainbow or meteor showers or the Aurora Borealis or an incredible sunset that catches one by surprise. The skies are where we all wish upon the first star or send our prayers aloft. Skies are where I look to find both continuity and continual change. Skies are where I look to find hope." Monica Rozak is an oil painter of land, sea + cloudscapes. Her landscapes are inspired by the light of Cape Cod, Ma, Nova Scotia, Maine and the woods of Western NY. Monica paints with the hope the viewer will connect to a sense of place both in the natural world & deep within the viewer’s own self.
