• Lot Description
  Oil on canvas, depicting mirror image of H. R. Morland's son portrait (prominent British genre and landscape painter George Morland (1763 - 1804)), the half-length portrait captures the young artist in a dark coat and a soft white cravat against a dark, moody background, reflecting 18th-centiry British portrait style, no signature found, framed in wooden frame with Tuscan beads gilt fillet, overall 27-1/2" x 23-1/2". Provenance: Gary Sheldon Grimes Estate private collection.

  Good, relined, old inputting visible under UV light.
