• Lot Description
  Seven large-format pen and ink engineering drawings on translucent drafting vellum by the Bender Body Company, Cleveland, Ohio, depicting custom commercial vehicle body designs for Pierce-Arrow, White, Dodge, and Stewart chassis. Subjects include a 13-passenger Pay Enter bus on Pierce-Arrow Model F.A. chassis (Drawing No. C-1638), a 45-passenger Open Pay Enter bus on Stewart Model 31X chassis (No. C-5093), De Luxe Delivery vans on Dodge Model BE and White Model 60 chassis (Nos. C-1632 and C-1643), a Van on White Model 56 chassis (No. C-1644), a Streamline Stake Body on White Model 712 chassis dated 4/13/34 (No. 23693), and a Streamlined Oil Unit on White Model 730 chassis dated 9/17/35 (No. 24183). Each drawing shows side elevation, rear elevation, and plan views with detailed dimensions and construction annotations. The two streamlined designs are particularly notable examples of Art Deco-era industrial design.
