The thickly potted bowl covered overall in a bluish-grey glaze suffused with double crackle—a network of dark “iron wire†lines interlaced with finer golden “gold thread†fissures—stopping neatly above the foot. The rim with a shallow indentation, characteristic of classic Song prototypes. The base with spur marks. The glaze and form emulate the celebrated Ge wares long associated with the Southern Song dynasty, prized for their distinctive “double cracquelure†surface.
