• Lot Description
  Chinese Peking glass jar with a finely crafted red overlay on a frosted glass body. The intricate cameo-style carving features a detailed fruiting cherry or pomegranate tree motif, symbolizing prosperity and longevity in Chinese culture. Carved seals on the body: "The heart is your inner compass (literally question one’s heart what’s the right thing to do or what is the truth)" and "Grace/Graceful", and carved inscription on then bottom: "On behalf of the official kiln, a vessel is made for official or royal use." The lid is adorned with birds and a carved finial, likely dating from the late Qing Dynasty.
