  A vibrant and highly detailed cold-painted bronze figure of a strutting rooster, cast in dynamic form with a dramatic upright crest, textured plumage, and an elegantly sweeping tail. The bird stands alert on an integral naturalistic base, evoking a lifelike presence enhanced by well-preserved, hand-applied polychrome paint. This piece is marked “Geschützt”—a German term meaning “Protected” (often denoting design copyright)—and bears the model number 2104, which points to its likely Austrian origin in the early 20th century. The cold-painted finish, particularly the richly layered reds, golds, and greens, suggests the influence or production style of the famed Vienna bronze workshops, possibly within the circle of Bergmann or similar foundries.
