Comprising a coffee pot, teapot, chocolate pot, covered sugar bowl, and cream jug, each of globular form with sculptural spouts and handles, raised on stylized pod feet. The lids are surmounted by the signature “Blossom†(Magnolia bud) finials, a hallmark of Georg Jensen’s most celebrated early design. Each piece stamped Georg Jensen with dotted oval hallmark, Sterling Denmark, and various design numbers.
The “Blossom†service, originally designed by Georg Jensen in 1919, is regarded as one of the most iconic and ambitious of Jensen’s creations. Its sinuous curves, naturalistic floral motifs, and tactile forms embody the organic spirit of Danish silver design, while showcasing Jensen’s transition from Art Nouveau influences to a more modern, sculptural aesthetic. Complete services such as this are rare on the market. Total weight 96 oz.
Condition
Very good overall with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The smaller teapot with a shallow ding to the body; otherwise no major dents or repairs noted. No monograms.
