• Lot Description
  Heavily carved Italian walnut prayer bench. The facade features intricate relief carvings of cherubs, masks, foliage, and grotesques, centered by a large panel depicting St. George slaying the dragon. Above the central door is a single drawer with carved swag and floral motifs. The base is supported by claw feet and enriched with gadrooned edging. The angled kneeling base is hinged and lifts up to reveal a lower storage compartment.

  Condition

  Good overall antique condition, worm holes, natural distress lines, sporadic wear and losses throughout especially on the inside shelves; dust and soils commensurate with age and use. Lock is not closing completely, but still holding the door. Old restorations.
