Circa 1820 weight driven pilar and scroll clock, with hand painted dial, and Roman numerals for all chapters ,minute hash marks on a continuous circle, bold at chapters, above the Roman numerals. A basket of flowers below dead center of the dial, represents beauty and love, an appropriate symbol, as most clocks were gifted to women upon their marriage, in the US at this time period. Mahogany veneer case, flat glass panel for dial crystal, lower glass panel with a reversed painted scene, skeleton baton type minute/hour hands. Included are three period brass spire and urn finials, case key, winder, pendulum bob and iron domed bell. Original paper label inside clock case.
