  Hand-knotted wool rug with a vivid red field, centered by a stepped diamond medallion in slate blue and ivory with stylized floral devices. The upper and lower spandrels feature bold geometric motifs in yellow, brown, and ivory, evoking traditional prayer-rug design elements. Framed by a border of repeating stylized rosettes and angular vinework. Turkish, ca. 1940's
