Founded in Germany in 1889 by Gustave Brachhausen, the boxes used premium polyphon movements. Originally started in Jersey City,New Jersey; the wood boxes would eventually be made in the U.S., as well as the mechanics assembled in New Jersey, rather than just an import of a completed unit. The highest quality standards were always upheld, resulting in Regina commanding premium prices in the U.S. market. The center section of the wood case with molded defined panels and carved corner ends, rests on four bun feet, the bottom edges are capped with carved molding, a four level top, capped with a bead molding at the acme. Cast iron cylinder frame with double combs. A detachable crank to wind the mainspring, resides on the right side of the middle section. The long brass handle below the driving cogs, shuts off the box when the handle is parallel to the right side of the case. Four 15 1/2" steel records included. Mahogany finished wooden case.
