Of elegant elongated pear form with a flaring triple-lobed mouth, covered overall with a soft bluish-green celadon glaze suffused with a fine crackle, a network of dark “iron wire†lines interlaced with finer “ice crackle†fissures. The glaze exhibits a glossy finish and subtle pooling at the foot rim, revealing the fine stoneware body beneath. The underside retains two early 20th-century dealer labels, including one for Yamanaka & Co., London, a renowned importer of Asian art to the West during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The form and glaze are reminiscent of classic Ru-type wares—prized for their jade-like tone and finely controlled crackle pattern—revived and collected in the Ming period.
