• Lot Description
  A circular molded glass plate in deep cobalt-blue glass of slightly granular pâte de verre, decorated overall on the obverse with a Surrealist composition in raised matte gilding: a central caricature head of swirling cursive line — feminine in aspect with elongated cascading hair or veil — accompanied at left by a cruciform talisman and below by calligraphic flourishes incorporating the artist's signature "Dalí." After a design by Salvador Dalí (Spanish, 1904–1989), produced as part of the Dalí–Daum collaboration begun in the late 1960s, in which the artist's Surrealist drawings were translated into limited-edition gilt-decorated cobalt or amber glass plates and bowls by the Daum manufactory at Nancy, France.
