• Lot Description
  Prancing Horse, circa late 20th century. Patinated and gilt mixed-metal sculptural figure with applied metal and wire accents for mane and tail, the stylized equine form constructed in articulated patchwork panels, raised on three hooves with one foreleg lifted in animated motion. Bustamante’s characteristic whimsical surrealism is expressed through the expressive facial modeling and exaggerated armature, blending folk art traditions with contemporary sculptural craft. Signed and numbered A/P edition.

  Condition

  Very good overall; scattered minor surface rubbing and faint oxidation to patinated areas; light irregularities to wire mane and tail consistent with material and fabrication. No visible losses or repairs.
