• Lot Description
  Hand-knotted wool carpet featuring a saturated madder-red field centered by a series of stacked ivory medallions filled with stylized geometric floral and tribal motifs. The field is densely ornamented with latch-hook devices, rosettes, and small diamond forms arranged in vertical alignment. Stepped indigo spandrels anchor each end, while the side panels display repeating triangular serrated forms in navy and rust. The main border is cream-ground with angular, reciprocal geometric motifs in polychrome, flanked by multiple guard borders with traditional tribal ornament. Persian, ca. 1960's
