• Lot Description
  Low dense silk pile on silk foundation. Fine hand-knotted rug. Field with central complex multicolor medallion with extensions and floral designs on ruby red color background; complex multicolor corner guards; multiple borders with floral palmettes serpentine motifs on multicolor background; fringe at both ends. Sino-Persian, ca. 2000's

  Condition

  Good, with honest use. Silk pile largely full but flattened and lightly rubbed across the field, with some loss of sheen and slight lightening of the colors; no holes, tears or moth damage observed. Light soiling and grey tonality to the ivory ground of the border. Fringes present at both ends, slightly uneven with minor loss; selvedges intact. Reverse shows an even weave with no repairs, patching or reweaving. Slight irregularity to the edges; lies acceptably flat.
