• Lot Description
  "An Artist Painting." Most likely satirical self-portrait. Pen and watercolor on paper, signed lower left corner, in a wooden frame under glass, overall 19" x 12". Provenance and labels verso:  Dr. C.R. Rudolf, London (as inscribed on verso): Dr. Rudolf was a noted mid-20th century collector with an interest in British watercolors and satirical art. Works from his collection were often acquired from reputable London dealers. Wilson & Lee, Antique Supermarket, 3–5 Barrett Street, London W1 (label on verso): Wilson & Lee was an established London dealer in paintings, watercolors, and prints active during the mid-20th century, specializing in British works on paper.

  Not examined outside of the frame. Appears in good condition consistent with age.
