Three Chinese jade rings of archer's ring (banzhi) form, each with a wide cylindrical bore. The first in pale celadon stone with russet veining, carved in relief as bundled bamboo sections with incised leaves, the rims lobed. The second in creamy yellowish-white stone, the band cut with diagonal spiral fluting. The third of squared form with concave sides and rounded corners, in a brown and ochre stone of matte, altered surface.
Condition
Very Good. All three rings complete and sound, with no cracks observed. The bamboo-carved ring with minor nibbling and small chips to the lobed rim edges, and light dirt in the carved recesses. The fluted ring clean and well polished, with a small natural inclusion in the band. The squared ring with a matte, altered surface, pitting and mottled discoloration throughout and light abrasion to the rims, consistent with its condition of burial. Russet and brown tones are natural to the stones. Not professionally tested.
