A pair of vintage cast iron still banks. One modeled as a miniature safe with relief decorations and faux combination dial, inscribed “SAFE†to the door; the underside bears patent dates “PAT. FEB 18 1871 / MAR 21 1871.†The second bank in the form of a seated bear with coin slot to the back and visible seam through the center, likely designed to be opened via screw fastening. Both retain a dark aged patina.
Condition
Surface wear, oxidation, and scattered losses are consistent with age. Bear bank slightly gapped at the seam.
