A substantial section of agatized fossil coral, displaying both the weathered exterior of the ancient coral colony and the beautifully silicified interior revealed on the cut face. The outer surface shows the porous, organically patterned texture characteristic of coral structure, with natural cavities, channels, and remnants of the original polyp framework, 3-3/4" x 5-1/2"x 1-3/8".

The polished interior reveals smooth chambers and undulating botryoidal silica growth in warm tones of caramel, taupe, and translucent grey. These internal surfaces highlight the complete replacement of the coral’s calcium carbonate skeleton with chalcedony and agate, forming glossy, gemstone-like patterns while preserving the biological architecture of the original reef organism.<br>
A geodized brachiopod fossil exhibiting classic bilateral ribbing and natural shell curvature, now partially hollowed and lined with shimmering quartz crystals. The exterior retains the original gray, weathered shell texture with fine radiating costae typical of Paleozoic brachiopods, 1-1/4" x 1-5/8" x 1-1/8".

A naturally opened cavity on the reverse reveals an unexpected geodized interior: a sparkling druse of micro-quartz crystals coating the inner chamber, creating a striking contrast between the fossil’s ancient shell and the bright mineral infill.
