  Sandayu’s wife Osachi (a Kabuki role name). Woodblock print in colors on rice paper, signed and sealed along right side: "Sandayu’s wife Osachi (a Kabuki role name) / Fuku (a censor's seal) / Muramatsu (a censor's seal) / Kochourou (the Hall Fragrant Butterfly) / Toyokuni (the author’s given name) (Note: Toyokuni often refers to Utagawa Toyokuni (1769–1825) who was a great master of ukiyo-e, known in particular for his kabuki actor prints.)"; mounted on the secondary rice paper, with silk backing, framed under glass in bamboo style wood frame, finished in black pigment and gilt highlights, overall 19-3/4" x 14-3/8".

  Good, some warping, minor sporadic foxing, light staining, mounted on the secondary paper; frame with some wear.
