• Lot Description
  "Assemblage 1964-A4". Wall-mounted found-object wood assemblage on arched-top plank panel, composed of reclaimed wooden forms including a turned wheel, star-shaped gear, baluster spindle, open trapezoidal trough, and cylindrical elements, with horizontal bars extending through slotted openings. Finished in a dark charcoal-brown wash with areas of exposed natural wood. Labeled on verso 'ASSEMBLAGE 1964-A4 by Vernon Bobbitt, 806 Linden, Albion, Mich.' with wire hanging hardware. Bobbitt was Chairman of the Art Department at Albion College (1946-1976), a Tiffany Foundation Fellow (1940), and is represented in the Smithsonian Archives of American Art oral history collection.

  Condition

  Overall good structural condition. All assembled elements securely attached. Moderate wear and rubbing to painted/stained surface at edges and high points. Minor chip/loss to lower right corner of bottom horizontal bar. Small nail holes and surface scratches on verso. Wire hanging hardware intact. No significant losses or structural damage.
