LINDSAY NYGAARDPink Portulaca
36.5" x 24.5" x 1.5"
Donated by Artist
Nygaard enjoys growing a variety of flowers for pollinators during the warmer times of the year. This small succulent is one of the artists favorites because of its brightly colored, layered petals and the soft spiky leaves on its stalks. After flowering, their seeds easily drop and spread for blooms the following year.
Lindsay Nygaard gets inspiration for her paintings through observations and interactions with nature. She keeps a camera and sketchbook nearby to document her interpretations of the outdoors and wildlife. Nygaard enjoys traveling to the many national parks in the US, visiting local wildlife sanctuaries and is in awe of the variation of the flora and fauna. She also finds solace in outdoor activities including hiking, bird-watching, and gardening. www.lindsaychassenygaard.com
