(lot of 2) French Louis XVI style caned walnut chairs, late 19th c., each rising on fluted tapered legs, ending on arrow feet, including: (1) barrel-back armchair, approx 27"h, 19.5"w, 17"d, seat height: approx 18"h; (1) petite side chair, approx 34.25"h, 14.5"w, 14.5"d, seat height: approx 15.5"h

07.16.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 2310: The chairs stand sturdy and appear structurally secure throughout, both having a professional patched repair to the caning at seat back (see image), which are blended remarkably well into surrounding area, with some very slightly visible adhesive, the side chair with some minute segments of loss at the top right corner of seat back, weave remains secure, edges of caning remain securely bound throughout, the walnut frames having minute evidence of old woodworm commensurate with origin, and there is a sparse amount of typical minor surface wear such as small nicks and abrasions commensurate with age and use
