- Lot Description
(pair) Large Louis XVI style parcel-gilt and paint-decorated mirrors, each having floral wreath crest, above scrolled frieze and draped swag, wide frame with columnar posts, encasing flat mirror plate, approx 58"h, 79"w, 220lbs total
Condition
CR 8.19.25-In my opinion regarding LOT 3140: We do not believe these mirrors to be antique and likely originate in the late 20th century, these were received out of a private California estate, additional provenance information was not provided. I note that the mirror plates remain securely encased within framing and free from observed chipping or hairlines/ fractures, nor do I observe silver losses or hazing, the gilded finish exhibits typical tonal variations associated with small rubs, mellowing, spotting, and a couple minute chips, all being commensurate with age and use and overall minor, but is overall well-retained, the blue painted finish of the frames is also free from notable loss, with a few small spots of staining also commensurate with light use
