• Lot Description

  (lot of 2) Regence style carved walnut armchairs/ fauteuils, a near pair, each having padded back and seat in tan leather upholstery, shaped armrests, rising on stretcher-joined cabriole legs, including: (1) with padded arms, approx 49.5"h, 29"w, 26"d, seat height: approx 18"h; (1) with scrolled arms, approx 47.5"h, 29"w, 24.5"d, seat height: approx 17.5"h

  02.12.26 - note that both chairs stand sturdy, the leather upholstery remains securely bound throughout, and the leather is free from observed tearing or holes, the seat backs having small impressions or “puddling,” which are typical and commensurate with use (see images), I observe typical minor creasing, and a few minute spots of peeling, seemingly contained to corners and edges of the seat back, the wood frames with typical minor surface wear such as small nicks and tonal variations related to finish rubs and fading, the corners of the seat have small nail-holes, which I believe to be related to a previous upholstery that was secured to different points of the frame than the current leather upholstery
