Machetes: (1) Engineers Model 1005, a 15" curving blade with horn four pin handle clearly marked near left ricasso "Collins & Co Harford, No 1005, housed in a tooled leather sheath bearing the stamp and logo of Collins & Co. with arm, hammer, crown and Legitimus, the scabbard with brass throat and tip, blade finish is bright with light scratches and nicks, overall machete and scabbard 22.25"l; (1) a 17" blade marked at the left ricasso "Crown over Collins & Co, Made in USA No 127" (third digit in model number is obscured), the handle is stacked leather, likely later copper pommel, housed in an all leather scabbard with stamped Collins logo above "113", blade is silver tone with some black spots, machete and scabbard 23.25"l; (1) Engineers Model 1005, a 15" curving heavy blade with rosewood four pin handle, the model number at left in the ricasso are, further marked, now partially obscured, Collins & Co, Hartford; housed in a tooled leather sheath with brass throat and tip, blade with expected scratches, several tiny edge nicks, overall machete and scabbard, 22"l; (1) a 24" blade marked at the left ricasso "Crown over Legitimus over Collins Co. over No 460", a 5 pin black handle, housed in an all leather scabbard with the Collins rectangular stamp above number 13, blade silver tone with dark sots, surface rust, roughness areas at edge, machete and scabbard 29.5"l, for shipping largest measure 29,5" x 3.5" x 1", total of all 9.80lbs **Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
