(lot of 4) Monumental framed Italian School oil on canvas paintings, Allegory of the Four Seasons, apparently unsigned, relined, some small paint flakes, including: (3) Autumn, Spring, and Summer, sight: approx 76"h, 32.5"w, overall: approx 92"h, 48"w; (1) Winter, sight: approx 75.5"h, 24.25"w, overall: approx 91"h, 39.75"w; cast gilt frames with some typical small losses, glue repairs and painted touchups with variation, 360lbs total
7.29.25: In my opinion, the works are large and impressive, one frame is slightly smaller than the others as noted, I am not an expert on such works, please let me know should you have further questions once the report has been reviewed, this report provides a comprehensive assessment of the works as a whole, please refer to numerous images, as described the four paintings have been relined, a UV light examination reveals possible/likely restorations or stabilization to each, (examples, upper corners, one with stable line along left edge- see images) all appearing maintained and stable, old varnish, scattered areas of inpainting, craquelure, light stretcher lines on a few, some paint flakes, some variation to varnish, grime and some spotting/discoloration, as commensurate with age and display, please see images for a view of rear canvas, frames are cast and show some typical small glue repairs, small chips, spotting, touchups and variation to gilt and painted surfaces
