English George III inlaid mahogany secretary bookcase, 19th c., having stepped cornice, above dual glazed and mullioned cabinet doors, revealing fixed-height shelved interior, the lower case having fall-front door with inlaid cartouche and banded trim, enclosing divided interior with two small drawers and central cabinet, above four exterior drawers, rising on bracket feet, approx 80"h, 38"w, 18"d
Condition
03.25.2026- In my opinion regarding LOT: 2199- the structure is in and sturdy and stable condition, banded trim is well retained, glass is intact in free of chips or cracks, the case displays some lines to finish, tonal variation, rubs, light wood wear with some edge nicks, there is a small raised area of veneer to fall front on right side and to interior surface, both minor, see images, the interior is fitted, slides operate smoothly, drawers slide well but are a bit tight and would likely benefit from a good waxing to facilitate even smoother movement, bottoms are stable with some gapping noted to several, all mentioned commensurate with the age, display and use of the cabinet
