Unusual Renaissance Revival highly-carved walnut buffet, in the manner of Luigi Frullini (Italian, 1839-1897), late 19th c., having elaborate scrolled crest with reveling cherubs in oval cartouche, flanked by seated figures and fruit-filled urns, over paneled case with ornate figural scenes depicting the twelve labors of Hercules in high relief, two open shelves on supports modeled as young satyrs, phoenix, and winged male sphinx with mounted putto, above three standard drawers, flanked by four narrow drawers with protruding lion mask pulls, three cabinet doors opening to fixed-height shelving, flanked by draped half figures, rising on ornamental platform base, approx 82"h, 95.25"w, 29.5"d **Provenance: Purchased from a castle in the Loire Valley**
CR 7.3.25-In my opinion regarding LOT 3190- as described, the highly carved sideboard is exceptional, the carvings are plentiful and finely executed with remarkable detail that remains crisp and well defined, the patina is warm with attractive tonal variation, condition issues are sparse and minor overall, the case stands sturdy and all elements appear present, noting a repair to the right side crest at the bird’s tail which is now intact and presents only a minor seam, the case and top show only very small nicks to the wood, light rubs, and some minor wear at protruding elements, there is some scattered signs of old woodworm, primarily limited to the left side of the top and appearing minor, see images, a few small stable seams/ splits are present but not structural, shelving shows some light wear to the tops and I was unable to fully examine the interior but have provided images for your review, drawers slide smoothly with light staining and wear to the interiors, cabinet doors function properly and the shelving remains secure, the interior bottom panel has a long stable split with a slight gap along its length though it is firm and does not appear compromised at this time, in my opinion the sideboard is in fine condition, with all noted wear minor and commensurate with its origin, age, and use
